This week the education and entertainment met to check in, and talked about the different ideas everyone had. We started our meeting by setting up times in which everyone was available to meet with professors who we are going to interview. After setting up times, we shifted to identifying problems and ideas that we have gathered through our research. We came up with many different ideas and problems that the Indian education system has, for example one of the problems we found is that the student to teacher ratio is high. This affects students by not having that one on one attention  needed when struggling with materials.

During our discussion we asked ourselves if we are making education smarter. We realized that some of our ideas were just improving the education system and not necessary making it smarter or changing it. We used the three-circle approach we learned in class on Tuesday to find ways to disrupt the education system in India, and came up with two ideas. One of our ideas is have a mentoring app where people can get one on one help in areas they are struggling and the other is having a system where students are quizzed weekly to see if everyone is on the same page.

This upcoming week is important for us as we are going to get more insight from people we are interviewing who have gone through India’s education system. By next weekend we hope to finalize the problems we are going to focus on.
