This week, we discussed different approaches to the problem of safety and security in Vizag. Logistically, we have been collaborating via a Google Drive folder as well as through group messages. We’ve agreed that a data-driven approach is the way to go, and that before we have more information, we shouldn’t commit on a single option just yet. In addition, our team has reviewed the information we have so far and have concluded that more depth and variety is needed. The police data is not useful without further clarification, and having sources from Tyco alone is going to lead to biased information.
We have worked towards a solution by compiling a list of questions that we will send to Cindy. With these questions, we’d like to figure out the problems we will focus on. Ideally, we would like to get access to data beyond Tyco executives, and talk to the userbase that will be affected by our technology directly: policeman, municipal leaders, citizens. By going straight to the root, we can figure out how to maximize our impact with the most efficient resources.
