Goals of the Week

  • Create detailed project outline
  • Individual responsibility outline
  • Continue developing the survey

Summary

The telecommunication group met on 09/17/15 at Hass Library. We added a new member to our team who is majoring in computer science. It is great to have another computer science major on our team to help support software development. Due to the addition of a new team member, our group responsibilities were re-assigned (see below). The group now has 5 members with a well-balanced skill set.

The meeting began by brainstorming project ideas. At first there were two distinct ideas. One idea involved setting up an API allowing users to gather data on the city and it’s many services. The other idea was an application allowing citizens to report issues to the municipal government. As explained in Tuesday lecture, we “drew out” our ideas to determine the best solution. By “drawing out” our two approaches we gained a better perspective on the overall project. Eventually the group decided to combine the two ideas creating a very dynamic project.

The team hopes to have a more detailed project outline by next week. Currently group members are establishing a timeline of their individual responsibilities. The project outline and timeline will be reviewed next meeting.
