Goals:

1) Conduct research in the second vertical we were assigned last week – problems and potential solutions

2) Finalize survey questions for people we know in Vizag to understand local citizens’ pain points

Summary:

This week our group decided not to meet up but to continue our individual research on the topic assigned from last week’s meeting. Even though we did not physically meet, each member posted their research notes to the Google Drive and talked about the general overview of their sector and some existing problems. Now we have identified at least one problem in each subsector and for each problem, we have proposed several potential solutions. This week we will continue our research but with each person in a different sector – in this way, everyone can have a deeper understanding of the major issues in Vizag and in the end we will compile everyone’s research and design the final solution.

The second progress is that we decided to interview some of the contacts we know living in Vizag to hear about their first-hand experience, their pain points and understand how they think the transportation and housing system should be improved. These insights would be very helpful in guiding us to the right direction and solving the right problem. We decided to work on the survey over the week and start to reach out to the contacts next week. We were also thinking about asking Professor Darwin about the best way to reach out to local citizens. Our personal network in Vizag is very limited; therefore it would be great if there is a way that we can hear from more people.
