This week, we presented to a small panel of judges a shortened 5 minute presentation of the longer mid point review we will be doing next week. To prepare, we met before class started and ran through what we would be saying in our presentation. This ended up being really helpful because it allowed us to gauge the length of our presentation and cut out unnecessary parts. The judges, in general, seemed to like our presentation and our idea so we’re confident about next week. Talking to the judges after the presentation, we came to the consensus that a good demo for our application would be having a card register a connection with an nfc chip. This would show the people we present to that the technology is not really very difficult to implement or maintain.
We also met earlier today to make some modifications to our powerpoint for the presentation this week. We kept most of our slides and added new ones to introduce what our project would be (the nfc chip) and a revenue model that one of the judges seemed to really like. Hopefully, these changes will tie up some loose ends and make our presentation stronger as a whole. We also posted a few questions directed to university students that would be relevant to parts of our presentation in the forum. This week has mostly been focused on prepping for these mid point presentations. Starting next week, once we take all the advice from the judges, we can start implementing our project.
