This past week was a really busy one for my team and I. It was the week of our midpoint review presentation, and I want to discuss the steps we took to prepare for our presentation and what we decided to do after it.

Last weekend, our presentation was still in need of a lot of work, but it was during this time that we put took the time to really polish our idea. We met on Saturday to work for five hours straight on our slides to have a developed presentation for our midpoint review, since we didn’t get very good reviews on last Thursday’s presentation. Therefore, over the weekend and during this last week we put in multiple hours to finish up the mockup of our platform and our presentation slides.

In addition, we took part in the play that took place after the executive dinner. The rehearsal for the play was on Tuesday morning, but prior to that we met up with Professor Darwin. We had a meeting with him at 6am to go over our idea one more time and get feedback on what we should improve. Prior to the dinner we prepared a survey that we wanted to distribute to the executives, which would give us more of an insight of whom they employed and why. We were unable distribute the survey during the dinner however, we were able to ask some executives about our questions and received good feedback as well as constructive criticism. After the rehearsal and after the executives dinner we worked on our slides some more. After our morning rehearsal and after the executives dinner we worked on our slides some more. That Wednesday night my group and I stayed up until 2am to finish up our slides and do run throughs of our presentation.

On Thursday, before our presentation we rehearsed on our way to the hotel and while we were waiting to enter the presentation room. We were second to last to present and we didn’t know what to expect, but my team was really happy to received good feedback. This made us feel a lot better about our idea. At the end of the presentation we stayed behind to have a mini meeting with our team to get a better understanding of what we need to change in our business model, and our platform. There is still some work to be done in our overall presentation but we plan to focus on our revenue model and make it stronger. We  also received constructive criticism from the judges, and this is what we will be working over these upcoming weeks
