The telecommunications group made progress with our presentation this week. This past week’s lectures helped us to better understand the weaknesses in our project. On Thursday, Professor Darwin introduced the balanced scorecard as a method of communicating information in a clear and concise manner. The second part of class was dedicated to creating a scorecard for our group. It was easy to identify the major benefits of the project, but our financial assessment was weak. Our group was reminded that we must focus on our business model in the next few weeks. The project itself is a good idea, but won’t be viable with a strong business model. This week we hope to dedicate our efforts to building a better business model. There is a SigFox hackathon this coming weekend, which provides a great opportunity to develop our business model. The engineers will develop a better platform; the business majors will use this time to make a stronger and more scalable financial scope.

This week’s lectures were also helpful in providing a framekwork to create a better presentation. Our group has a very complex project that is difficult to understand, even more so in a small amount of time.
