This week, the Food and Water group presented our business model for the first time during in-class presentations. We have decided to break it into two parts. The business model for the platform we’re building and the business model for how the government can distribute the sensors. We received no negative feedback so next we’ll have to go more into our pricing development.

As our product is more solidified it seems our biggest gaps to fill will be building our platform. Our partner Edyn will hopefully let us use some of their code for their app as a template, if not we will have to utilize and explore Bluemix to see if it can create what we are aiming for. The second gap is getting reliable and direct information about the soil and crops in Vizag. We have reached out to numerous people and are hoping to get a soil sample before we go to India but we are having some issues finding someone who is willing and able to do that. We are collaborating with Edyn to see if they can make their app and more inclusive of Indian crop and soil components.
Things are really coming together nicely as we draw closer to our trip. After these key components are completed, our biggest task will be cleaning up our presentation and prepping for our time in India.
