This week most of the progress we made was in response to suggestions made by Param, Dr Rao and our classmates from 2 weeks before. During our meeting with him, Dr Rao commented that we should dive into how we address the problem instead of contextualizing it for too long mainly because most Indian officials would already be well aware of the problem. In response we drastically shortened our introduction slides from 4 slides to 1 slide.
Dr Rao also suggested that we contextualize our solution to the industries in India and lessen the emphasis on software engineering jobs as that was not the main industry in Vizak. In response, we changed the sample project in our mock ups from one about android development jobs in Microsoft to one about civil engineering jobs in Vizak Steel, a huge company in Vizak.
One of the key advice that Param gave us was to better highlight the way certify differentiated itself from other products. He commented that we had a very unique solution but that was not coming out in the presentation at all. My group thought about it extensively and realized that we needed to change the way we presented our solution. Currently we were presenting it as a combination of ISTAR, ISB and Mindsumo but we decided that it would be better to segment the market and show that certify was trying to fulfill a key need for holistic education and exposure to industry projects.
The other thing that Param mentioned was to design the search feature in our website so users could search for positions not based on what they were qualified for but what they aspired for. During the extensive meeting we had we discussed more about this and will be updating the website soon!
