The telecommunications group mad a lot of progress this week. The engineers

made substantial progress regarding our personal innovation. Woody and Sanjeev were

able to develop code that created a successful dashboard. The sensors data would be

transmitted, input into an API, and reflected on a map of Vizag. Even better, Alex built

physical circuit hardware to work with the Sigfox base station. All of this progress was

reflected in the revamped presentation that Rachel and Sam created. Instead of using

Powerpoint the group decided to use Keynote, which proved, allow for a more flexible

visual communication. The presentation was able to be more concise, but also

communicate the information more successfully. Overall, our group believes we have

made a lot of progress over the course of the semester especially in the last few weeks.

The final goals for the semester focus mainly on a proper demo. The engineers

(Woody, Sanjeev, and Nate) hope to work on creating a further substantial product. Alex

plans to focus on developing the circuit board. The goal is to have a complete demo for

the final presentation in India.

Over the course of the semester, Dr. Rao, Param, and Professor Darwin impacted

our project in different ways. Dr. Rao provided much needed insight into the current state

of India and how we can accurately adapt our project towards it. Param provided industry

experience and insight into a successful working product. Both Dr. Rao and Param were

very accessible to the group for questions and to “bounce ideas” of them. Professor

Darwin was a huge asset in connecting us with the right people and providing a holistic

vision for the group. Without the committed and consistent effort of all three our project

would not have come this far.
