Professor Solomon Darwin comes with broad Leadership Experience in Corporate Management & Academia. He is an international speaker at many business conferences and has been recognized by his peers and students with numerous awards for his innovative leadership, teaching and curriculum development. At UC Berkeley, he teaches courses in Open Innovation, Business Model Innovation and Open Innovation in Emerging Economies. He also teaches in Executive Education Programs and serves as the faculty director of the International CEO program. As a center director, he moderates key annual International Conferences, Innovation Forums. He chairs the quarterly Dean’s CFO and Chief Innovation Office Round Tables. His teaching experience spans over 18 years. Prior to joining the Haas School of Business Berkeley in 2005, he was an Associate Professor for 9 years at USC’s Marshall School of Business in Los Angles.

His progressive corporate leadership experience covers a span of 14 years as a Senior Finance Officer at Bank of America; Director of Finance at First Interstate Bank; Corporate Controller at Glendale Federal Bank and Senior Financial Analysts at Motorola.

During his spare time, Solomon consults and trains senior executives. The list includes: Google, Genentech, Hewlett Packard, UCSF Medical Center, HealthNet and other Silicon Valley companies and startups, as well as enterprises in Europe, Russia, China, Mexico and India.

Solomon actively teaches in the International Executive Programs as a Visiting Professor during summer breaks at prominent universities that include:

He is passionate about helping the poor to have access to good education and healthcare. He founded a school (1996) and a hospital (2004) for the poor in India. His academic achievements include: BA (San Francisco State University); MBA (Golden Gate University); MCCP (Harvard University); and holds two honorary doctorates. Solomon has been happily married to Amy Darwin for 18 years and is the father of Nena (17) Judah (15) and Jaelle (7).

 

 

 

 

Professor Donald Wroblewski

 

Dr. Don Wroblewski is Director of Capstone Experience for the Masters of Engineering Program at the Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership.  In that role, he has broad responsibility for all aspects of the Capstone experience.  He manages relationships among the various stakeholders, including students, faculty and industry advisors, while providing an additional layer of technical and project management advising for all Capstone teams.   He assists in pedagogy development for the engineering leadership and capstone integration courses and works to better meld these courses with the Capstone projects and deliverables.   He also teaches the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology’s Challenge Lab course, an interactive, experiential, hands-on learning experience focused on entrepreneurial problem solving.

Dr. Wroblewski earned his bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and his masters’ degree and doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley.  He is a registered Professional Engineer with 30 plus years of broad-based engineering experience within academic, industry, consulting, and government environments.    He is an award-winning educator with expertise in capstone course development and coordination, online learning, and active-learning techniques. As the inaugural Associate Dean for Educational Initiatives at Boston University, he spearheaded curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular initiatives focused on innovation and entrepreneurship within the College of Engineering.
