This week, the Safety and Security group met up to discuss next steps. First, we outlined the information we would need in order to move forward. Specifically, we requested to be introduced to the most relevant safety and security players in Vizag. Professor Darwin connected us with Ravi Kanniganti, the Directory of Safety and Security Solutions for Tyco in India, as well as Robert Lock, the SVP of Tyco’s Corporate Ventures and Strategic Acquisitions. We will be doing more research and outlining our questions before scheduling interviews with these two figures.
Each member has reviewed and analyzed several resources including previous presentations, city websites, and public data. However, we are in need of more current and detailed data in order to assess the needs of Vizag. We are hoping these interviews will be instrumental in answering our questions so that we can move forward with a smart solution.

We also discussed our areas of expertise in terms of technology and business planning in order to outline possible areas of limitation and opportunity. As of now, we are very flexible on what type of technology we are going to create. We have discussed mobile, hardware, and online solutions. We will continue to research smart city solutions and also create a Google drive to keep the team aligned on new knowledge.
