This past week the Safety and Security Group made tremendous progress in reaching out to government and business resources. We also explored the feasibility of possible innovations to pursue. Our group has now reached out to over twenty Vizag government and police officials that we are looking forward to hearing back from.  We also have finally received responses from managers and leaders at Tyco and Cisco who will be sending us expanded data on the crime statistics and classifications from the past 5 years.  With this we will be able to narrow down our possible techs and finally get started on cranking out a prototype.
We did an immense amount of brainstorming over this past week.  Having tried to incorporate the wisdom of our guest speakers and Professor Darwin’s theoretical innovation models, we have narrowed our possible solutions.  Our solution will come from one of two activity categories – preventative or post-crime, but will be useful for both areas.  We have decided that our tech will incorporate a type of “dashboard” that will use sensor data to provide enhanced safety and security information to the police officials.  A dashboard is an interface that will display data easily to government officials and possibly even citizens.  We also hope to take advantage of IBM Watson’s capabilities when compiling this data.   We look forward to more progress in the future
